Race Setup - RacePro 1.1

Race setup consists of setting options, choosing a scoring method, and setting up groups.

In the Options box you have the option to ignore the worst time. This will eliminate the heat in which the racer had the slowest time from being figured into results regardless of whether or not they won the heat.

For Scoring you may choose between Average Time, Points, or Fastest time.

  • Average Time - The racer's standing will be determined by the combined average for all their heats.
  • Points - Each heat is broken down into points. If there are 4 lanes, the first place finisher gets 4 points, the second gets 4, etc. This method is recommended when you have no electronic timer and have no way to get accurate times.
  • Fastest time - Place is determined by the fastest time of all heats.

If you wish to seperate your racers into groups then select the 'Use Groups' checkbox. Once you have selected this option, a new dropdown menu on the racer registration screen will appear and you will be able to assign each racer to a group. The racers that are not assigned to a group will be placed in another seperate group.

To add a new group click the 'Add Group' button. Once you have added a group, select it from the list and you may edit the name. For example you may seperate racers by age: 'Adults', 'Teens', 'Kids'. The group names can be whatever you want.

The next section is the Groups method. This tells RacePro how to handle groups. There are three options in this section: Groups race other groups, Top 3 in each group progress to finals, and Groups do not race other groups.

  • Groups race other groups - All racers race together.
  • Top 3 in each group progress to finals - The top 3 finishers in each group will progress to a finals round, the winner of this round will win the race.
  • Groups do not race other groups - Racers from group A will never race anyone in group B.
