Additional Optional Hardware - RacePro 1.1
RacePro allows you to setup additional hardware such as a light tree (also known as a christmas tree) and a solenoid start gate.
A Light tree adds extra excitement to your race by giving a real race atmosphere. A light tree is a device that starts off with yellow lights and eventually lights up green to signal the heat to start. You may see them at drag strips where the two cars are sitting side by side waiting for the green light to begin.
The light tree is only designed to run on a parallel port and each stage is controlled by a different pin on the parallel port. You choose the parallel port at the top of the Additional hardware screen and then select which pin corresponds to which stage in the drop down menus in the Light tree box. The duration signifies how long each stage will be (in seconds) lit before proceeding to the next stage.
The Solenoid start gate allows the start gate to be released electronically. This feature can be used in conjunction with the light tree so that once the green light comes on the start gate is released immediately.
